The Noordhoek Village Cricket Club is located in the Noordhoek Valley, just 25 minutes drive from the City of Cape Town, and approximately 40 minutes drive from the Cape Town International Airport. Situated at the foot of world famous Chapmans Peak with it’s breath-taking mountain and sea views, the Noordhoek valley remains one of Cape Town’s treasured destinations and is a perfect setting in which to play cricket. Visitors can expect a friendly and vibrant atmosphere when arriving at the field.
Noordhoek meaning ‘northern corner’, was named in 1743 as the north corner of the farm Slangkop. In those days farmers grew vegetables to supply the ships calling at Simon’s Town.
Today Noordhoek maintains this atmosphere with the return of vegetable and wine farming to the area and the blend of horses, pigs, cows, hens and other farm animals.

Long Beach, Noordhoek
In Noordhoek you can still hear owls hoot at night and Long Beach is one of the best kept secrets of Cape Town - 8 km of wide, sandy, unspoiled beach, bordering on wetlands, on which locals ride their horses and walk their dogs amidst the dedicated surfers and sand dunes.
The Noordhoek Farm Village offers visitors fine restaurants and pubs, and accommodation can be found at either the boutique hotel or at one of the many fine guest houses in the area.
The NVCC comprises players who reside in the surrounding area or neighbouring suburbs, and the Club focuses on playing cricket that is ‘competitively social’. Matches are usually played on Sunday afternoons and are based on the limited overs format of the game. The Club also boasts a junior section which is run under the auspices of the AllRounder Cricket Academy (www.allrounderacademy.co.za) and is registered and competing in the Western Province Youth Cricket League. The Academy has enjoyed reasonable results with a number of their youngsters earning age-group Provincial Colours.
